I've been getting so amazing feedback and also some constructive notes from DJs from all over the world, especially in the US and Canada.

I started tinkering based on that, so you'll see a second version of the calculator further down. I think there is some confusion with the language I use when I mention a BASE rate.

Some think it could just be blended into the hourly rate, and there's some logic to this, but another way of looking at your base rate, is as your profit margin.

If you simply charge an hourly rate, you only getting paid for your time, so there has to be a service base rate or something to buffer this, especially if you ever want to grow the business and send other DJs to gigs on your behalf.
